Clue/Question: When Broom-Hilda’s magic backfired, it – – –
Answer: SPELLED TROUBLE
(It seems that Broom-Hilda’s spells rarely go the way she would like them to go. She’s been around for about 50 years now. I started reading the strip when I was a young teen. My newspaper doesn’t carry it, but I always read it in the Democrat & Chronicle whenever I was taking care of my mom, up in Rochester.
There are no new clue words today. But, there were three new jumbles. We’ve seen that lousy “sulyo” before though. All the clue words came quickly. The answer letter layout was great fourteen letter jumble. I saw SPELLED right away, and from ORLBEUT I was able to get out of TROUBLE.
Good old Broom-Hilda, and her two favorite buddies, Gaylord – the buzzard, and Irwin – the hairy troll. She’s kinda like the Oscar Madison of witches. Generally benign, but don’t piss her off! I guess at 50 years you’d have to call Broom-Hilda a classic cartoon! Nice job, Russel Myers! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
