Cryptoquote Spoiler – 11/04/20

Audre Lorde — Design & Illustration

It is not our differences that divide us.  It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.”   —   Audre Lord(e)

(Wise, wise words, from a woman who Wikipedia writes:  a self-described “black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet,” who dedicated both her life and her creative talent to confronting and addressing injustices of racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, and homophobia.  Not exactly Donald Trump’s kind of woman!

I get the feeling that the Donald has never “dated” a Black, Hispanic, Asian or Native American woman in his life.  The only times he’s even posed for a photo with one was when he was presiding over some beauty pageant.  To think that this election is as close at it is is extremely depressing.   I only hope that the majority of his supporters have simply been taken in by his irrational fear tactics.  The thought of that many people – my fellow countrymen – actually embracing his outlook on things is frightening to me.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  AT LENGTH

(One of the two’s wife couldn’t take it any longer.  Who knows how long she had to hear them yammering about which snake is the biggest.  I’m not even going to bother looking that up, because when it comes to anything bigger than a garter snake, I’d just as soon shoot first and ask questions later, than take a measurement.

All familiar old friend clue words today.  However, all of their jumbles appear to be new.  The only one to give me pause was “tecih”, as words that start with vowels aren’t my first considerations.  The answer letter layout was a concise eight letter jumble.  Decently cryptic.  The clue/question set up the final answer nicely.  And, I think the one guy using the word “longer” may have tipped me off as well.

Fine cartoon of some supposedly learned gentlemen, having a semi-heated herpetological discussion.  I once argued with a roommate in college about a picture of a snake’s head.  He swore up and down that it was a lizard, and he pointed to something that he claimed was the “lizard’s” shoulder, while I argued that it was simply a coil of the SNAKE!  That argument was never resolved.  LOL!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
