Clue/Question: To see who was the best arm wrestler, they – – –
Answer: HELD AN EVENT
(Could they hold such an event, in our current state of the COVID pandemic? I suppose they could pull it off, assuming they wear both surgical type masks, and some kind of latex gloves. But, the masks would hide most of the entertaining grimaces. That’s a big part of the fun!
There were no new clue words today. They were all old standards. Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen both “algee” and “vindie” in the past. The answer letter layout was a fairly challenging eleven letter jumble. After a couple of looks I spied the word HELD. Then the rest fell into place.
Fun arm wrestling cartoon. I’ve seen women arm wrestlers before, but not inter-gender matches. Except there was that commercial where this mom is taking on all these burly guys, and beating their butts. I can’t remember what it was selling though. Anyone out there remember??? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Geico?
Geico had a commercial like that (included basketball as well!). There was also a Skittles’ commercial that ended with a woman challenging a man to arm-wrestle for the last lemon Skittle. There are probably others out there.
I think you and Angela are right, AR! Geico usually has the funniest commercials. I think the basketball portion was arcade basketball. I don’t remember that Skittles commercial, but I’ll take your word for it. I’m pretty sure now it was the Geico commercial I was thinking of.
Thanks, guys!

UR,
My Granddaughter(9yrs) informs me that all her girlfriends are trying to copy the blonde girls’ voice in the Geico commercial, about the
“Chainsaw Hiding” scene…A little CoVid 19 fallout??¿HaHa!!
The circle letter “V” almost instantly gave me the answer, Nice*{weird?¿}
You go Rays, 1-0 bottom 2nd inning…Easy pick for the $$…To much $$ lost if no game 7……. ¥
…and the runner is safe (out)??^…….Byyyyy…k
I’m a big fan of that Geico ad, Ken! I hope you didn’t put money down on there being a game seven! Congrats to the Dodgers . . . the best team money can buy! Rays gave it a great run! — YUR
UR,
I didn’t bet the game but was very close to doing so…I would have been furious at the loss,
not for $$ reasons but what manager Kevin Cash did in the sixth inning…By pulling Blake Snell in the sixth inning because of the teams mantra of “no pitching into the third time into the lineup” STUPID!!! Analytics >>Is Overused* …He was possibly throwing the best game of his life…in the game of his life…Only 74 (?) pitches…9 Ks in 4 innings… tied the great Sandy Koufax: Forgit ’bout it☆…What the Rays did with the 28th ranking in Payroll is rather amazing^ & to lose because of…….the above senerio gives hope to teams like the Cleveland Indians>>Go Tribe…and finally > The LA Dodgers are a very good team in all aspects of the game…Congrats to them “Bums”{should of never left Brooklyn!!}…some old timers still get teary-eyed at that thought, Oh bring back 1956 (left in 1957){Twilight Zone moment}…Oh well,
life goes on…….
