Visual Description: The overfill landfill.
BEALF = FABLE, FROEF = OFFER, CUVAMU = VACUUM, SKURNH = SHRUNK — Giving us: AEOEVCHRK
Clue/Question: The town’s landfill was over capacity and beginning to – – –
Answer: “REAK“Make that “REEK“ HAVOC (Thanks, to Anthony Marasco! See the comments.)
(A semi-literal/figurative stinky pun! It took me a couple of looks to see the final answer, but the quotation marks definitely helped. Just by coincidence – I’m sure – one of the answers in today’s LA Times Crossword Puzzle was WREAK!
There were no new clue words today. Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen both “froef” and “skurnh” before. The answer letter layout was another fine nine letter jumble. Nothing obvious there, from my standpoint.
Great cartoon of garbage trucks, lining up to get into the dump. You can see the city off in the distance, and some seagulls looking for a free meal. Looks like they’re going to have to truck in some fill dirt, to cover up the open garbage. Then they’ll need to find/create a new dump. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Reek not reak, only one a in the letters.
UR,
My Jumble had only one “A” circled!!…So I had “REEK” instead of “REAK”…Those boys need any help??¿Ha
So looong…….k
UR,
Oh, by the way, …Havoc” great word & fitting for today’s world?¿
Speaking of Crossword’s, …Want to humbled?*

Note: This may give hope to some Puzzlers:
My 97 yr. old Mother was diagnosed with CoVid from a “quick test” but when the results came back from a longer, more precise lab test,
it was deemed negative!! A brief hospital stay confirmed this…….She is back in a top-notch nursing home, under a 10-12 day observation mandate (??¿) in the state of Ohio…….
The reason I shared this is; If a first test comes back positive, don’t panic keep the faith…Turning it over to a Higher Power can’t hurt☆…….
Byyyyy…….k
Thanks for the heads up, Anthony! I shall issue a correction anon! — YUR
The error was all mine, Ken! Fix coming right up. — YUR
There are a good number of false positives with these COVID tests, Ken. And, a good number of the legitimate positive tests don’t result in any serious symptoms. I take this Coronavirus seriously – masks, hand washing, socially distancing – but I’ve never been a true believer in the numbers that they are telling us. To me, they just don’t add up. — YUR
Concerning 10/17, do you agree that they circled the wrong letters in “resort”? They need SOE to make “skyrocket”, not RRT. Just realized, they are exactly the opposite of the correct letters: ResoRT instead of rESOrt. Is this a first?
Sorry, Mark. But, the mistake is on your end. It is not RESORT, as there is only one R. There are two E’s though, which makes the word STEREO. Don’t worry about it though. These things happen.

UR,
As far as”…never been a true believer in the numbers…” goes, it is a shame that politicians,
whether on the right, left or middle, even in a pandemic, seem to be more concerned that their bent takes priority over the overall concern/welfare of the constituents…Aah, to be back on the sea☆…….
Ken,
As much as I despise Mr. Trump, I’ve always acknowledged that the corporate media – other than FOX News – has a surprising bias against him. I thought they gave Duh-bya WAY too much slack during his terms in office, but following the events of 9/11 I think they did not want to risk seeming unpatriotic, by holding his feet to the fire, like I think they should have. — YUR
I think the word in the answer is “reek”
Check again, Bill. This post was corrected yesterday! But, thanks anyway. — YUR
