Answer:  ONE SECOND FLAT  (right way)

(An excellent stinky pun!  Even though it’s deflating, it wasn’t depressing, at all.  Do you think Mr. Hasty got the point?  I bet it let a lot of the air out of his ego.  Really punctured his balloon.

No new clue words today.  Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen “dxuee” and “solsf” in the past.  No stumpers today, for me.  The answer letter layout was a surprising thirteen letter jumble.  Nicely cryptic.  I thought it did a fine job hiding the final answer.  But, with the great cartoon, and the leading nature of the clue/question, it was a quick solve for me.

The two guys kinda look a little more specific than our usual cartoon characters.  But, I don’t know if Jeff was suggesting anything specific.  Very enjoyable Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
