“It is sheer madness to live in want in order to be wealthy when you die.” — Juvenal
(I couldn’t agree more! Except, most of us don’t know when we’re going to die, and we simply don’t want to starve to death, or die destitute. So, we can’t afford to be foolhardy. Like most things in life, moderation is the key. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR
Clue/Question: The osprey artist created original paintings and planned to – – –
Answer: HAWK THEM
(Back to the straight forward stinky pun! No misdirection, or ambiguity today. I believe that the word hawk was the answer in a recent LA Times crossword puzzle, for to aggressively sell. The osprey is certainly an aggressive bird of prey. According to good old Wikipedia, they are also known as: sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk. It’s easy to see why they’re the logo/team name of the Seattle Seahawks! Boy, have they started hot!
There were no new clue words today. Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me. But, we’ve definitely seen “simaco” before. Which is fine by me, because I love the word “mosaic”. The answer letter layout is a great eight letter jumble. Wonderfully cryptic.
Fun cartoon of talking birds. The painter especially looks like an osprey. Maybe he’s Bob Rossprey! He’s painting puffy little clouds, and happy little trees. And probably, very unhappy little fish. Another great Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
