(Today’s answer was a real groaner of a stinky pun.  Noel Coward is spinning in his grave!  I’m relatively sure that he would agree with Samuel Johnson, with humor and wit essentially being interchangeable.

No new clue words today.  But, three of the jumbles appear to be new.  We have seen “beavo” at least once before.  No stumpers today.  The answer letter layout was a concise seven letter jumble.  It was sufficiently cryptic.

Great cartoon of a domestic couple.  We’ve all been there, paying the bills, and arguing with the various utility companies.  Even with all the lights on in the house you wouldn’t triple the usage.  Not unless you generally live like a bat!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Cryptoquote Spoiler – 09/23/20

(For a whole lot of people, the impoverished and the diabetics to name a few, marmalade is a tremendous treat!  I’ve always thought that caviar was like the comestible version of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”.  Everyone pretends to be so impressed with it, in this case so they can appear to be sophisticated.  Blech!  I know that’s not the point of the quote, but if you want to see that, look up the Cryptoquote Spoiler of 10/23/19, because this is yet another re-run.  I hope everything is alright with our Rebecca!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
