Answer: ESCAPE HATCH
(Great stinker of a pun for a Monday morning! I haven’t heard anyone use the phrase “escape hatch” in ages. It’s like right out of an episode of a 1960’s “Batman”, or maybe a James Bond film. Or, maybe an old submarine movie, or Sci-Fi space epic. I like these Jumble pun/answers that take me back to simpler times!
No new clue words today! But, there was a new one in Sunday’s Jumble, if you’re reading this ralis95! And, that word was “RUDELY”. Back to today’s Jumble. Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen “snarkh” before. The answer letter layout was a swell eleven letter jumble. It doesn’t appear to be obvious, but the final answer did jump out at me.
Cute cartoon of a mother hen, and her soon to be fully hatched brood. Chicken coops seem to be favored settings for a lot of Jumble puns. We do seem to have a lot of egg idioms, adages, and proverbs. And, of course there’s the age old question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
