Answer: SHARE THE PROFIT
(But, I suppose it could be the closing bell too! It looks like they’re just about to ring it. If so, Jumble closed up a robust 25 points! While the former stalwart, Crossword, closed down either 15 or 19 points. Ouch! Hopefully, Will Shortz got in on the ground floor with Jumble. This is probably a temporary setback for Crossword. They’ve always been very resilient.
All of today’s clue words are members of the ralis95 Big Board of Clue Words. Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but we have definitely seen “ruyhr” in the past. The answer letter layout was an enigmatic eleven letter jumble. It gave nothing away. It took some thought to get the final answer.
Fine stock exchange cartoon. Not sure if that is Stacey Cunningham, or Adena Friedman. I’m pretty sure it’s not Dr. Deborah Birx, AKA: Scarf Lady! Jeff and David definitely look happy. I don’t think Will Shortz benefits from an Uncle Rave kind of blog, or the many imitators, like Jeff and David do. Pity. I still do the crossword puzzle, Will! Oh, wait. My paper carries the LA Times crossword. Never mind! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Actually several daily blogs appear online about the NYTimes’ Crossword Puzzle, including a NYTimes column, Wordplay, written by different columnists different days of the week: https://www.nytimes.com/column/wordplay (you have to scroll down to see the blog for each day’s puzzle). This one, understandably, is rarely critical of a puzzle or even a clue/answer, except in some reader comments.
Then there’s an often snarky blog written by a competitive puzzle solver, pseudonym “Rex Parker,” who is rumored to be grumpy because his puzzle submissions were declined by Will Shortz: https://rexwordpuzzle.blogspot.com/ In this column, the blogger usually criticizes and nitpicks the puzzle and its editor; reader comments often complain about “Rex’s” attitude instead.
There’s also a blog by frequent puzzle-creator Jeff Chen which primarily gives the answers with brief comments by Jeff and the puzzle constructor. No reader comments. https://www.xwordinfo.com/ This one, though, has a lot of tools to help crossword puzzle constructors. It can for example show you all the clues for a particular answer in all NYTCWPs going all the way back to 1942!
There are at least two other blogs for the NYTCW puzzle linked in Jeff’s blog.
But none of these match the charm of our Unclerave or Angela covering Jumble!
