“Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we may fall.” — Oliver Goldsmith
(Rumor has it, I was in a production of “She Stoops to Conquer”, when I was a freshman in college. I have very limited memories of it though, as I was going through some MAJOR pain, due to a slipped/torn disc. So bad that the director gave me some of his neuralgia medication. Yikes! STRONG stuff! I’m told that at one point in the scene I spaced out . . . big time, and jumped ahead a page . . . or two . . . or three. And, the guy – a friend/ex-roommate – who was in the scene with me had to talk me back to where I should have been. I also jumbled/reversed the order of two words in one line that I was delivering. Fortunately, the guy played along, and repeated my line to me, with a questioning tone – and a smile – that allowed me to correct myself. Everyone would’ve been better off if I’d just acted with the pain! And, this whole incident was completely lost to me, until I ran into my friend at a college reunion 15 years ago! The brain is a funny thing. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
