Clue/Question: She had everything she needed to apply a coat of lacquer to the table and would – – –

Answer: FINISH IT
(She wanted the satisfaction of seeing her work all the way through. That is completely understandable. When you take anything from start to finish there’s usually a greater sense of accomplishment. And, now all the hubby can say is: Well, I helped bring it in from the garage.
It looks like we have a brand new clue word today, in “livid”! I checked, and it’s NOT on the latest version of the world famous ralis95 clue word database. But, it will be soon, providing our friend’s air conditioning hasn’t failed him. Yesterday it got up to 105° out his way, and today it could reach 98°! Yikes! All of today’s jumbles are coming up as new. The answer letter layout was a straight eight letter jumble. Not obvious, but it also couldn’t hide the final answer.
Fine cartoon of the refurnishing project. It’s all ready for a new shellacking. My neighbor likes to do this. She picks up furniture from the side of the road, or if it’s offered up for free on Nextdoor.com, and then resurfaces them, and puts them up for sale. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
