The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can’t read them.”   —   Mark Twain

(Whenever my wife sees just about any book, she says:  Ehh, I’ll wait for the movie!  Let me tell you though, reading at a sub-vocal level is only a few steps above illiteracy.  The affliction has really held me back.  I would love to read more books, but they just take me forever to get through.  Be well and do goof, friends.)   —   YUR

It's Creepy': Unexplained Drones Are Swarming by Night Over ...

Visual Description:  The downfall of modern civilization.

SANGSI  =  ASSIGN,  DIALSN  =  ISLAND,  SMEEAS  =  SESAME,  TDOSED  =  ODDEST,  RRUUMM  =  MURMUR,  SAYILE  =  EASILY   —   Giving us:  ASISDESOESMURESI

Clue/Question:  Using drones to deliver the magazines – – –

Pre-Answer:  Three Words  (6-letters)  (4-letters)  (6-letters)

Protecting vineyards with drones | WSU Insider | Washington State ...

Answer:  RAISED SOME ISSUES

(Why some people would accept a little bit of “convenience”, at the cost of personal privacy, is totally beyond me.  I understand that privacy is a dying concept, but I think it is still essential to a free society.  Other than search and rescue personnel, using drones to locate/help lost and/or injured people/animals, in areas that are too vast and rugged/dangerous to do otherwise, I think they should be banned.  And the so-called “security” scam, that has been perpetrated upon us ever since 9/11/2001, is just that . . . a scam, that preys on people’s basest fears.  If you really need to fear anything, fear the ever increasing police state, here and around the world.  And, fear the climate change that all of us have caused, and continue to cause.  Those are the two things that we need to fight against, because they have the gravest consequences.

There were no new clue words today.  The first two jumbles appear to be new, but jumble 3-6 have all definitely been used before.  I thought that “sangsi” was a devious jumble!  But, I didn’t have to back into it, or anything.  The answer letter layout was an excellent sixteen letter jumble.  Nothing obvious about it.  I figured ISSUES first, then I saw SOME.  The AISEDR gave me RAISED.

Great cartoon of J Magazine!  Coming soon to a newsstand near you!  The drone techie looks convincingly nerdy.  And, the drones look sufficiently annoying.  Fine Sunday Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
