Clue/Question: The kids wanted to play baseball. Luckily, there were plenty of – – –
Answer: GLOVES ON HAND
(Gotta love this Jumble! It’s both seasonally appropriate and politically correct. I don’t think I have to explain the pun aspect of this answer to anyone. Do I?
There are no new clue words today. But, surprisingly, only one new jumble, as we’ve definitely seen “viwea”, “nhiynw” and “gmoysg” in the past. Maybe that’s why I had no trouble with any of them. The answer letter layout was a beautifully cryptic twelve letter jumble. The final answer letter slots were my biggest clue . . . right off the bat.
Great youth baseball cartoon. It sorta has a “Bad News Bears” or “The Sandlot” vibe to it. A great Jumble for a Saturday . . . in the park. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

I miss the boys of the summer (not just that great Don Henley song). They’re still making Jeters, and Rivieras, and Williamses, and Ruths, and so many others out there; we’re the ones missing out witnessing their rise to greatness. But maybe it’ll all come back, with shorter games and seasons, and less roids perhaps, next summer, could they please?
All that. But, THIS Summer, Wes! — YUR
Well, maybe but without the people, and the bleachers, and Nathan hot dogs? Something’s missing, isn’t it? Maybe I’ll hold off for next year when things will be all back to normal (or so they say, knock on wood). One hopes…
UR,
Unfortunately this Scrambled Jumble reminded
me of this; The parks in my city are plentiful &
well kept but one thing is missing,{even before The Virus} the young people…it seemed like almost every baseball field (of Dreams¿) was in play…
Now it seems as if they brought out of mothballs the Ebola Gay{Really?} and dropped
an A-bomb in the area(Authors license)…something to ponder on, just for a little while??^
Stay Blessed…….
They’re too busy with video games and cell phones with social media apps to play baseball, Ken. Okay, boomer? LOL! — YUR
Just watched “Field of Dreams”, for the Nth time last night! In the scene where he brings Terrence Mann to Fenway, and they’re walking down some of the inner ramps, it reminded me SO much of the old Yankee Stadium. They should’ve respected their tradition, and kept it. There was no need for a new stadium. Yet another reason for me to hate the Yankees! LOL! — YUR
“Okay Boomer?” LOL! “Field of Dreams” is a great movie to watch any time, but especially in the summer, and especially this summer. I’m no baseball nerd, but I agree with your thoughts on tearing down the old Yankee Stadium- at the time I was puzzled as to why the grand pooh bahs thought it necessary to build a new one. Seems like we do that way too much here in the USA, tear down the old (and usually beloved), and build something new (and usually too expensive)…oy vey. Excellent blog, as always, UR, have a wonderful week! jenn
UR,
Ditto on the Yankees{DemBums}☆>>>Go Tribe…….Just one of the Great things about being at the ballgame, No Clock☆>>>Oh the
memories…….^

Probably a combination of kickbacks and the misguided “prestige” of a new stadium, jenn. Thanks, jenn. It’s always great hearing from you! — YUR
I’m reading that the weaker teams could have a legit shot at making the playoffs this year, Ken. In lots of years a weak sister starts off the season like gangbusters, but eventually they fade, and the stronger teams prevail. With this 60 game season we could see the Birds, or the Tribe, versus the Reds, or the Bucs! — YUR
I don’t remember the movie “The Sandlot”, but it sounds like a good yarn to watch; especially the character “Mr. Mertle” played by James Earl Jones.
It’s definitely on the silly side, lwc. But, it was done very well. It’s one of my daughter’s favorite movies! — YUR
