Louis L'Amour - Alchetron, The Free Social Encyclopedia

Start writing, no matter what.  The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.”   —   Louis L’Amour

(For those of you who don’t seem to care about what I write with these spoilers, just blame the faucet!  I gotta turn it on to get the spoiler out . . . and the rest just kinda flows out, until I decide to turn it off.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Fluke vs Flounder: All You Need to Know

Visual Description:  Fluky looking flailing fish.

ORRRE  =  ERROR,  RUDGO  =  GOURD,  RWENIN  =  WINNER,  PLYOFP  =  FLOPPY   —   Giving us:  EORGUDINNFL

Clue/Question:  The young flatfish were just learning to swim and were – – –

Striking Differences Between a Fluke and a Flounder - Animal Sake

Answer:  FLOUNDERING

(Flounder is a family of popular flatfish.  They’re a good eating fish.  Fluke is one type of flounder.  The biggest difference with flukes is that both of their eyes are on the left side of their bodies, while other flounders have both their eyes on the right side of their bodies.  There are also some coloring differences, but as far as I can tell they all pretty much taste the same.  And, both of them are a little freaky looking.  Don’t think they’re some kind of nuclear mutants!  They’re just bottom-feeding fish that have naturally evolved that way.

I think there must be some ERROR with today’s Jumble.  Somehow, our Jumble pals – past and present – have never used the clue word “error” before!  Can you believe it???  When I typed in “error”, in the find/search on the ralis95 clue word database, it took me directly to TERROR.  So, now the big boss-man has a reason to update his world famous clue word database.  All four of today’s jumbles are coming up as new, for me.  The answer letter layout was a nicely cryptic eleven letter jumble.  Even though there was no K, I was still thinking FLUKE.  But, with the available letters, I decided that the final letters were ING.  And, the beginning two letters could be UN.  But, UN-EORDFL-ING, and various iterations, weren’t exactly jumping out of the water.  But, the FL helped to end my floundering.

Cute bottom-feeding flatfish cartoon.  I guess they practice a kind of sidestroke!  I always enjoy seeing the after effect of the classic sinking sailboat.  They can’t just vanish off of the horizon!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
