Celebrity is the chastisement of merit and the punishment of talent.”   —   Emily Dickinson

(If Ms. Dickinson could see today’s “celebrities” she’d really be spinning in her grave!  “Reality” show . . . participants, and spoiled filthy-rich girls with humongous tushes!  Could Emily make it today without that badonkadonk?  I believe our society has devolved, folks!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Remembering the time Muhammad Ali fought Superman - Polygon

Answer: ABOUT TIME

(Yeah!  The champ has been ducking our guy for nearly two years!  Opting for the bum-of-the-month club instead.  Well, now it’s go time, baby!  No more excuses.  Just mano y mano, between him and the future champeen of the world!  Let’s get ready to RUMM-BLLLE!!  I was always a big boxing fan, but not so much anymore.  You kinda get spoiled by following the likes of Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, George Foreman, and The Greatest:  Muhammad Ali!  The Larry Holmes era that followed was good too, but he didn’t quite have the same charisma.  I enjoyed the lighter weights too, but the heavies used to be the main attraction.

Hey, now!  We have a new clue word today, in “pummel”.  Our good friend, ralis95, will once again need to update his world famous clue word database.  Very appropriate, considering the topic of the Jumble!  All of the jumbles appear to be new.  None of them tripped me up.  The answer letter layout made for a fine nine letter jumble.  I don’t think it gave anything away.

Fine boxing ring cartoon.  A little reminiscent of the previous Jumble team, if my memory serves me.  Seems like they did a few boxing themed Jumbles, back in the day.  Or, maybe I’m thinking of some of the “Grin and Bear It” comics.  They often had boxing themed ones.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
