Sunset In Himalayan Mountain Mount Everest Between Nepal And China ...

(Hmmm!  A very familiar stinky pun.  Even the cartoon looks similar to one we’ve had before.  We’re going to have to put Angela on this case!  She will get tot he bottom of it.

Surprise, surprise!  We have a new clue word today, in “smugly”!  Our good friend, ralis95, will have to update his world famous clue word database.  And, “gmyusl” happens to be the only new jumble today.  The answer letter layout was another fine nine letter jumble.  UP did kind of stand out.  Maybe Hoyt should’ve switched the last two jumbles/words.

Great talking mountain cartoon!  I think, once upon a time, I might’ve wanted to climb Everest.  But, that urge is long gone.  The Flat Iron mountains, in Colorado, are more my speed.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Nice relaxing Saturday Word Game, especially
    the cartoon*

I heard there is a plan by Putin and the boys to
inject K2 with some “HIGH (LOL) POWERED
    HORMONES”, to overtake Mt. Everest!!!?¿

Safe & Healthy Weekend to All☆

Hi YUR. So here’s the long and short of it. Or shall we say the tall and short of it? Mount Everest has been a familiar theme, having appeared many times in the past. But there was a puzzle solution back on November 1st, 2010, whose solution was MEASURED UP. Close, but no cigar. And your ralis95 need not report for work today…SMUGLY graced the pages back on April 14th of last year, anagrammed as: GUMYSL. And yes, it was a Sunday. And that’s all she wrote…Be well…and stay safe. 🙋🏻‍♀️

Hey, Smitty! Long time no hear! Welcome back, stranger. Angela is a relatively newer reader/follower who likes to research things, like repeat Jumble answers, and when a “new clue word” has actually been used before. She’s even found jumbles that I stated were “new”, but had been used in the past. (I forgot to enter them to my Tags list . . . at least one time.) Keep reading the comments. She already answered the question that I posed. — YUR

And, you’ve wrote plenty, Ange! But, ralis95 still had to report. (Since he missed it ten years ago.) — YUR

May is the month weather allows climbers to have a chance to reach the peak of Everest and return.

Some good coronavirus news is that this mountain, which has taken an abusive pounding in recent decades due to Nepal selling too many permits even to unqualified people, and the climbers who otherwise would have died attempting the trip, got a year’s reprieve, as no permits were issued and the area was closed. People trying to climb this mountain often suffer potentially fatal pulmonary ailments and gastrointestinal distress even in the best of conditions, which we would not have right now due to the virus.

The flip side of that coin is that the sherpas who have few to no other job opportunities other than being paid to risk their lives humping gear for climbers did not earn any money this year, and their families will face economic hardship as a result.
