Cryptoquote Spoiler – 04/08/20

Ruth Bader Ginsburg | Jewish Women's Archive

Cherish your daughters as much as your sons and teach them both to stand up for what is right.”   —   Ruth Bader Ginsburg

(Believe me, folks.  I do.  And, I have.  For me, the worst part of humanity is the injustice that too many inflict upon others.  There is enough in this world for everyone, and there’s no need for all the acts of persecution.  We’re all human.  We all love our children.  No one is better than anyone else.  Really!  Be well and do good, friends.  Peace.)   —   YUR

Jumble Spoiler – 04/08/20

At U.S. Seminaries, A Rise In Millennials Answering God's Call : NPR

Visual Description:  Into the fold of the brotherhood.

TGEAN  =  AGENT,  RXYOP  =  PROXY,  DWEILM  =  MILDEW,  KRARED  =  DARKER   —   Giving us:  ANPROIDEDER

Clue/Question:  He felt he was destined to become a priest, and going to the seminary was – – –

What is seminary life like? - The Arlington Catholic Herald

Answer:  PREORDAINED

(Kind of an appropriate Jumble, considering for many Christians we’re in the middle of Holy Week, and for people of the Jewish faith this evening marks the beginning of Passover.  It’s a fine pun, but not one that came to me right away . . . being a “heathen”!

A little surprisingly, Hoyt gave us another new clue word today, in “darker”.  Unless it appeared in a past Sunday Jumble it doesn’t look like we’ve seen the word here before.  Our good friend, ralis95, will once again have to update his world famous clue word database.  All four of the jumbles are coming up as new.  None of them were terribly difficult, in my opinion.  The answer letter layout was a challenging eleven letter jumble.  It took me a couple of minutes to pick up on the clue words in the dialog and the clue/question:  calling and destined.  And of course, you can’t be “ordained” until you complete the seminary, so entering the seminary is kinda like being “preordained”.  For all you Mensa types – I know – Thank you, Captain Obvious!  But, there might be some who appreciate my little explanation.

A fine, lightly religious cartoon.  Jeff kept it simple.  A basic stained glass window, and just the priest’s collar.  No icons, or relics, or anything overt.  Another fun Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
