Jumble Spoiler – 04/08/20

Clue/Question:  He felt he was destined to become a priest, and going to the seminary was – – –

Answer:  PREORDAINED

(Kind of an appropriate Jumble, considering for many Christians we’re in the middle of Holy Week, and for people of the Jewish faith this evening marks the beginning of Passover.  It’s a fine pun, but not one that came to me right away . . . being a “heathen”!

A little surprisingly, Hoyt gave us another new clue word today, in “darker”.  Unless it appeared in a past Sunday Jumble it doesn’t look like we’ve seen the word here before.  Our good friend, ralis95, will once again have to update his world famous clue word database.  All four of the jumbles are coming up as new.  None of them were terribly difficult, in my opinion.  The answer letter layout was a challenging eleven letter jumble.  It took me a couple of minutes to pick up on the clue words in the dialog and the clue/question:  calling and destined.  And of course, you can’t be “ordained” until you complete the seminary, so entering the seminary is kinda like being “preordained”.  For all you Mensa types – I know – Thank you, Captain Obvious!  But, there might be some who appreciate my little explanation.
