Clue/Question: The owner of the old Swedish car was telling the mechanic his – – –

Answer: “SAAB“ STORY
(This is definitely a stinky pun. And sooty . . . and rusty. But, I love it. I have definitely used this gag in the past. But, I don’t see a lot of Saabs anymore. I guess that’s mainly because the auto company went bankrupt a few years back. Such a shame, as they were always a well engineered car. Originally, Saab produced jet fighters and other aircraft. The autos came later. I’m not sure if they’re still producing jets.
All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends. And, three of the the four jumbles have definitely been used before. The only new one is “scabi”. I was able to get them all immediately today. The answer letter layout was a fine nine letter jumble. But, with both the clue/question, and the quotation marks in the answer slots, this was an easy solve for me. Maybe the young ‘uns, who’ve never heard of the car, might’ve struggled to get it. But, I think most you regulars got it quickly too.
Great garage cartoon. Tires on a rack. A hydraulic jack on the shelf above them. The owner looks a lot like Jeff. It’s time he brought the old girl to a junkyard, and sell her for scrap metal. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
