“It is well known that the older a man grows the faster he could run as a boy.” — Red Smith
(Ha! As a young boy, I was actually pretty fast. One of the big boys in the neighborhood used to organize these track and field games, for all us kids. This one girl, who was about a year and a half younger than me, was the fastest thing on two feet . . . except when she ran against me. I would always just beat her. Apparently, even at that young age, she had a crush on me. She passed away, way too young. I think of her often. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

I was tempted to comment about you and your childhood friend, but since she’s passed away, I thought better of it.
I’ve been lucky; many of my childhood friends are still kicking; maybe not kicking so high, but at least they’re still here and counting down the years.

I’ve actually lost four of my childhood friends from my neighborhood alone, lwc. Three of them within a block of me – with two of them being brothers – and the fourth just two blocks from me. I can think of four more within a mile of my house. So, that’s eight. I don’t live in the town where I was born, so there could be more I suppose. Oh, and also the older brother of one of my best friends died this past year. So, at least nine of my childhood friends within a mile of my house have passed. I know, from a list that someone on Facebook compiles, that more from my graduating class and surrounding graduating classes have also passed on. I’m still only 62 so, to me, it seems like a lot. — YUR
UR,
I agree that’s a sad number/fact of your life.
I just Pray that trend slows down, not just for months, but years!!!^
Be Blessed☆
Thanks, Ken! — YUR
