Visual Description: Gramps is starting to lose it!
ARRRE = RARER, TEYPT = PETTY, GUATOE = OUTAGE, DGUTER = TRUDGE — Giving us: AEPTOUTD
Clue/Question: He tore off the top page of the page-a-day calendar to keep it – – –

Answer: UP–TO–DATE
(Today’s final answer was a Valentine’s Day gift to all of us. It felt more like a Monday Jumble, than a Friday one. But, they all can’t be stumpers, can they? If anyone is checking into the blog today, it’s probably not for the answer. They just want to see what I have to say about it.
Well, we do have yet another new clue word today, in “rarer”. I was definitely surprised not to find it on the ralis95 clue word database, along with rarefy, rarely and rarity. If we have had it before it likely came in a Sunday Jumble. But, maybe we’ve just never had it before today. Two of the jumbles came up as new, with “teypt” and “dguter” having definitely been used before. The answer letter layout was nicely cryptic, for an eight letter jumble. A lot of things made solving the final answer easy.
Fine cartoon of an older couple, living in a warm climate. Maybe they’re on a tropical isle, with no access to television, radio, newspapers, or internet. They won’t ever let you forget what day is coming up! Maybe that’s why Gramps was so caught off guard by the holiday. Granny was definitely on top of it! Enjoy the day folks! As always, be well and do good.) — YUR
