Answer:  A GREAT DEAL TO HER

(A sweet, stinky pun!  So nice of Gramps to help the young lady out.  Now, she can get to her job independently, not having to rely on one, two, or more forms of public transportation.  Of course, now she has to deal with gas and maintenance, traffic, and tolls, and crazy – and crazed – drivers.  And, maybe she read, or napped, when she used public transportation.  Can’t do that when you’re driving.  Well, not yet at least.  There’s always a trade off.

A fine set of clue words today.  None of them were new, and that’s okay.  Five of the jumbles did come up as new, with “sloygs” being the only one we’ve definitely seen before.  The answer letter layout was a nifty fifteen letter jumble.  I thought it did a fine job of disguising the final answer.  For me, the clue/question set up the pun very nicely.

Fine suburban cartoon.  The Jumble-Mobile that Gramps is handing down looks a lot more presentable than “Beige Betty”.  Hopefully, low mileage and mechanically sound.  Fun Sunday Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
