Jumble Spoiler – 01/31/20

Clue/Question:  When she saw her former husband in the restaurant, she wasn’t – – –

Answer:  “EX–SIGHTED“

(Pissed off?  Disgusted?  Resentful?  All of the above?  Yes.  But, definitely not excited!  These things are bound to happen though.  Chances are he may have taken you to that restaurant while you were married.  So, both of you probably knew there was the possibility of seeing one another there.  Just throw down a few more of those margaritas, and enjoy the company you’re with.

All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends again.  Three of the jumbles appear to be new, with “gotoes” having definitely been used sometime in the past.  No stumpers today, for me.  The answer letter layout was a fine nine letter jumble.  Not obvious.  But, it’s pretty rare to have an X in the Jumble.

Fine cartoon of a Mexican restaurant.  I like the bowl of tortilla chips, and the molcajete of guacamole on the table.  Personally, I’m more of a salsa guy, but I know avocados are the big buzz-fruit.  Especially on Super Bowl Sunday!  And, speaking of the Super Bowl, I’m a little torn but I’ll be rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs!  Both the Chiefs and the Forty Niners were two of the first teams that I used to follow as a kid.  But, the Forty Niners won a bunch of them in the ’80s and ’90s, and it’s been forever since the Chiefs won it.  Plus, I’m an AFC guy, as long as the Patriots aren’t in it, then I’m for the NFC team.  And, I root for the NY Giants, as long as they’re not playing the Bills.  This one is expected to be a very competitive game though!  Who do you guys like, and why?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
