Answer:  DRAIN ON THE SYSTEM

(A wonderfully stinky pun!  Not like raw sewage, or anything, but good and stinky.  Not an easy solve either.  At least not for me.  I wanted the word WASTE to be part of the answer, but of course there was no W.  No F either, so the word OF was out too.

All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends.  I thought maybe “whimsy” might be new, but I guess it’s just been a long time since Hoyt has used it.  Four of the jumbles appear to be new, with both “rambek” and “teynit” having definitely been used in the past.  The only one that tripped me up was “rambek”.  I didn’t have to skip it, or anything, but I think it’s a fine jumble.  The answer letter layout was a very impressive sixteen letter jumble.  Nothing given away there.  You really had to pick up on the gag to get to the final answer.  Without counting, I first thought it was going to be STRAIN ON THE . . .   But, that left me with MYESD.  I was long on one and short – and wrong – on the other.  At least I had the middle nailed!  I went back and checked off the letters for ON THE SYSTEM, and that left me with ARIDN.  Then it sank in.

Great cartoon of the workmen laying the sewage pipes, with some of the town/city administration looking on.  I like the back-hoe and the hoisty thingy.  I can’t make out what’s on the window.  Great Sunday Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

The lettering on the window spells out JUMBLE PORIUM. Again, I only know this from the other Jumble site. I once asked where they access a LARGE puzzle image and I was given a link for that day’s Jumble but when I clicked it the image was still “small”. I have not figured out the problem. I also first expected WASTE to be a word in the final solve.

“Jumble Porium”? Hmm! I guess as in Jumble Emporium. It kinda looked like three words, to me. Maybe it was Jumble Hem-Porium, and the guys are branching out to Medicinal/Recreational substances. 😉 Thanks, Gary. — YUR
