Answer:  KNEW IT WOOD BE

(Another great – and stinky – Jumble pun.  Reminds me of a joke from my childhood where an unfortunate one-eyed man, who couldn’t afford a glass eye, asks out this . . . ahem less than attractive woman.  She emphatically replies:  “Oh, would I!  Oh, would I!” And then he – angrily – says:  “Ah, forget about it, fvgg-face!”  It’s funny how some things stay with you.

All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends again.  However, all of their jumbles are coming up as new.    I zipped through the first three, but I got hung up on “dmeuti”.  I had to back into “tedium”.  The answer letter layout was a swell twelve letter jumble.  But, even with just the first nine letters I was able to get the final answer.  The quotation marks were a big help.

Great cartoon of Nick Offerman, and probably Megan Mullally.  I suppose it could be Tina Fey, as I’m fairly sure they’re all friends, but Megan is Nick’s Missus!  They’re all very funny.  And, I’ve heard that he loves making furniture, and working with wood.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Hey Unc, I thought it was “wood I, wood I?” To which the very offensive & non PC response is “hair lip, hair lip!” when hurling nasty insults? Oh well, hopefully we have outgrown such boorishness. Hoping that you are much improved and more comfortable. The Jumbles have been making me crazy the past couple weeks, either very simple or just too much for my pea sized brain. Today was kind of average, but I got it. Blessings on you my friend. ☺️

I could hardly believe I had such a tedious time
with TEDIUM….Someone said at some polnt in time, that to be humbled once in awhile is good for the soul…..wonder if that is true??¿¿¤

    Be Blessed!!

Hey, Barb! I believe THAT was the one-eyed man’s overly defensive interpretation of her excited Yes! Yes! The “hair lip, hair lip” retort sounds like an amusing alternative to the version I remember. Ah, yes. We are SO much more “enlightened” these days. Fortunately, cleft palates are easily repaired these days, and plastic surgery renders them virtually unnoticeable. Actually, it’s the wooden eye aspect of the joke that is pretty farfetched. Boorish, or not, I still find the joke amusing. I don’t apologize for that. I still find the Little Rascals hilarious, as well as The Three Stooges, and many cartoons that probably aren’t considered PC, by today’s sensitivities. The irony is that the people who NOW take these things as personally offensive used to laugh and enjoy them as much as I did! They had to be taught to be offended. A somewhat younger Jewish co-worker/friend of mine used to be a BIG fan of “Hogan’s Heroes” growing up. But, because some people pointed out to him that the Germans were not portrayed as sufficiently wicked he now finds the show somehow “offensive”. THAT is the mentality that I find sad. There is way too much bad and depressing crap in this world to allow the suppression of humor and comedy.

I’m doing as well as can be expected, considering my body is not what it used to be. I try to take it all with a grain of salt.

We have been having a number of fairly challenging Jumbles of late. The guys are earning their keep! Take care, dear lady! — YUR
