Defeat may serve as well as victory to shape shake the soul and let the glory out.”   —   Edwin Markham

(A very poetic way of saying you need to experience loss in order to be a gracious winner.  This is our first quote from Edwin Markham, since I’ve been posting these spoilers.  So, we welcome him to the Cryptoquote Club today!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  HATS OFF TO YOU

(This is a classic stinky Jumble pun!  Set up by great clue words and a nifty cartoon.  I know this is just observational, and anecdotal, but I’ve noticed that most guys that try to hide their baldness under their baseball caps were wearing baseball caps long before they started losing their hair.  It’s said that baldness is largely genetic, and passed down from the mother’s genes, but who’s to say that the wearing of the baseball caps doesn’t accelerate the process?!

All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends.  However, all of their jumbles are coming up as new.  The only one that stumped today – and, it’s been a while – was the jumble “tonudl”.  I had to back into it.  I should have known better, seeing the U and the N in it.  I know they’re legit, but I still think all the UN words are a little cheesy.  JMHO, as the kids say.  The answer letter layout was a fine twelve letter jumble.  But, even without the UTO, I was able to solve the final answer.

Fun cartoon!  I think it definitely helped that the guy was holding his hat in the one hand.  Hair transplants are fairly expensive, and more than a little desperate.  Nowadays, people are more inclined to do what Michael Jordan did.  He saw that he was really starting to lose his hair, so he just shaved his head.  I’m lucky enough to still have a good head of hair, but it takes me quite a bit of time, and a few “products”, to make it look good.  Having a bald head is much more convenient, and economical.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
