Clue/Question: For Ringo, replacing Pete Best as the Beatles’ drummer – – –
Answer: MADE HIM A “STARR“
(A good, but fairly obvious pun. The Beatles may have made him a star, but he made himself a “Starr” – and Ringo – before meeting the Beatles. He was in some bands before the Beatles, and at the time some of those bands were bigger than the Beatles. But, John Lennon realized that Ringo was a much better fit than Pete Best, and he was able to convince Brian Epstein to make the switch. And like they say, the rest is history!
There are no new clue words today. Ralis95 can rest easy. Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “moaar” having definitely been used sometime before. The only one to trip me up some was “editec”. I didn’t have to back into it, or even skip over it, but it took me more than a few looks to finally see it. The answer letter layout was a beautiful thirteen letter jumble. I don’t think it gave anything away. The answer slots and the quotation marks were the big clues for me.
Great cartoon of a later 1962 Beatles. All of them are very recognizable. This might even be the Cavern Club. It’s both hard to believe that two of the Beatles are now long gone, and how much time has passed since they burst onto the scene, and became the best known Rock band of all time. I was just a little kid when they first hit the U.S., but they quickly won me over. This makes me think of their song “In My Life”. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
