Answer:  LAST GOOD-“BUYS

(A sad stinky pun!  It’s always a shame when a mom and pop shop goes out of business.  It’s getting harder and harder for small businesses to compete with the big box stores and online vendors.  It just boggles my mind that the generation that essentially grew up in shopping malls now view traditional shopping distasteful.

There were no new clue words today.  Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, with only “loyhl” having definitely been used before.  The answer letter layout was a splendid twelve letter jumble.  Nothing obvious about it.  The hyphen/dash and quotation marks in the answer slots were the big clues for me.  I kinda backed into LAST.

Great cartoon of a closing bookstore.  Angela doesn’t look like she’s sad to be closing.  Maybe she’s just excited, because the two Jumble Studs stopped in!  It’s been a while since we’ve seen both Jeff and David in a cartoon together.  Has Simon made up with Garfunkel???  LOL!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

This time, Unc, you and I solved this in opposite directions. I saw LAST first, then GOOD, then tried LAST GOOD-“BUSY.” Huh? Ohhhhh never mind, got it.

By-the-by, I made a note in September 2018 of a BUY/BY pun in Jumble (I didn’t record the actual lead-in and answer then), but I believe this is the first BUY/BYE pun we’ve seen at least that far back, if it’s ever appeared before.

In the area I live there are 2 situations that
have a fair chance to work for “Mom & Pop”
Bus.: 1) Both parties came out ahead in their
    main working gigs^
    2) I person had a great occupation/profession. The other was in the Business World, even though in a lower tier position.
2A) They are debt free from their former life’s
and Do Not need their income from their Mom
& POP set-up for living expenses. NO heavy family issues, drugs, gambling, severe illness ect, ect……
Some of these “little stores have took off” Big
    Time!!! $$…….I forgot to mention 55 – 57 would
be an ideal age to start this》》》》☆ This may give you 15- 20 yrs. to do as you please^^^¥

Unfortunately around this country this trend seem to be going down….. But their are plenty
of other Countries {{Costa Rica}}>>>good spot!

    Good luck……..

Note for yesterday: If a couple starts out with a “Mom & Pop” Business, from the beginning, with the normal troubles & debt, sadly, they are a long – shot but keep the faith for, ” God can do all things”

    Laterrrrrr>>>>
