Visual Description: Silly billies!
TURTE = UTTER, NEESS = SENSE, GSITTH = TIGHTS, BIBRAT = RABBIT — Giving us: UTESETISBBT
Clue/Question: The ram friends, who loved to smash their heads together, were – – –
Answer: BEST “BUTTIES“
(This is a silly, stinky pun! It was a fairly simple solve, as the cartoon’s dialog, and the word “friend” in the clue/question, really set things up nicely. And of course, the quotation marks in the answer slots.
There were no new clue words today. Two of the jumbles appear to be new, with both “neess” and “gsitth” having definitely been used before. For me, “gsitth” was the only challenging jumble, even though we’ve had it before. “Tights” is one of the few semi-plural words that are eligible as a Jumble clue word. As an article of clothing you can’t have one tight, just as you can’t have one pant. For me growing up, you also can’t have one scissor, although it is pretty common here in the greater metropolitan NYC region. And, WordPress accepts it, so maybe it’s common in the U.K. too. Well, you can scissor something, meaning to cut it with scissors, but lots of New Yorkers use scissor as a noun. And, New Yorkers are never wrong, so don’t try to argue it with them! LOL! One of the reasons that I’m bringing this up is because WordPress did NOT object – highlight as an incorrect spelling – the answer word “BUTTIES”! It puzzled me, so I Googled it, and it’s the plural form of butty, which is a type of savory sandwich! Very often bacon. See above. So, I guess we learn something new – almost – every day! Fine eleven letter jumble for the answer letter layout. On its own, I wouldn’t find it obvious.
The cartoon is great! A nice mountain scene, with a couple of pairs of rams. Maybe when they’re young, they kind of do it for fun. But, when they’re mature it’s a way to show who the dominant male is. The winner gets the primo ladies! The loser has to do Farmers Insurance commercials. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Terrific blog UR, and so interesting about the butties/butty, and thanks for checking off the ‘I learned something new today’ box for me! Hope you, your knee, and your family are doing exceedingly well!
I’d say that if you have any English friends, you probably would have heard of the Butty. 😀
In North America, when two Bighorn Sheep(rams) are fighting for the affection of an Ewe (For me, She would have to be Soooo everything) each time they blast their skulls together the force of the blow could reach 800 lbs. In the Wild this is amazing!!>>>that would be like dropping 400 lbs of lifting weights on your forehead!! The loser generally leaves with no more than a temporary headache and loss of pride (no sex talk on this site)lol…….
Did American women stop using nylon TIGHTS in the 50s or mid 60s??¿
I really enjoyed the puzzle & the drawings of the Ram friends was◇in♤♤♤s
Be Blessed and safe & fun WK…..Byyyy
Thank you for the kind words! It’s nice to know that “Indiana Wants Me”! — YUR 😉
I think I’ve alienated a lot of the Brits with my calling them Limeys, Damid! — YUR
Ya know, Ken, I think scientists have been studying both these rams, and woodpeckers, to see why/how they don’t get concussions from doing what they do. Preventing concussions is THE BIG thing in a whole bunch of contact sports.
I think the women still wear them. Don’t they? I mean WHEN they wear a dress or skirt, of course. Hey, you know some of those “gender fluid” people like David Sedaris, Eddie Izzard, and the dude from “Queer Eye”, etc? Do you think they wear nylons/pantyhose? As liberal as I have always been, stuff like that always takes me aback. I guess I’m just getting old.

Had to double check this one…BUTTIES! I guess mama could have called the three of us BUTTIES growing up as we were always butting heads!
My goodness Ken, I guess they all “butt” knock themselves silly!
Though I can’t speak for all womankind, I still wear pantyhose at certain times. In the summer with a dress/skirt depending on the occasion and the type of dress/skirt I’m wearing. In the winter, tights for sure and sometimes pantyhose.
Hope all are doing well!! LL
Thanks so much for commenting, LindaLee. I’ve missed you. — YUR
Anonymous here! (first comment above), it’s just me, Jenn. Sorry ’bout that! Hi Linda Lee! You’re a classier and better lass than myself, I’ll do anything to get out of wearing pantyhose… I love tights or bare legs, but throw fits if hose enters the picture! UR, you mentioned in a previous post that you enjoy the music of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’- ditto here! I love it so much that the classic Linus and Lucy song- the theme song of sorts- is my ringtone, and the skating song is my text alert song. Still catching up on past blogs, but I won’t miss a one! I love reading them. Thanks UR! -jenn
Thanks so much for checking in, Schultzy! Great to hear from you! It has been a while. — YUR
