Clue/Question: Howard Hughes built the “Spruce Goose” out of wood and was able to – – –
Answer: BOARD THE PLANE
( . . . and even fly the plane . . . for about one mile, at an altitude of about 70 feet. Then she was never flown again! To date, the H-4 Hercules – aka “The Spruce Goose” – still can boast the largest wingspan of any airplane ever built, at 97.5 meters! That’s 106.6 yards, or almost 320 feet! They’ve compared it to the VVS/Starfleet Gagarin-class exploration cruiser, which you can Google, but it’s not real. It’s a silly “Star Trek” science fiction vessel, but it’s written up almost as if it’s real. Dumb nerds!
There were no new clue words today Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve definitely seen “bilia” sometime before. At first, I thought it was going to be labia. But, I thought: Whoa! Why would Hoyt use THAT word? Although, it very well could be a Jumble clue word. Just not the most family friendly of words. Explaining it to the kiddies could be a little . . . forward. The answer letter layout was an interesting ten letter jumble. It disguised the final answer from me for a while. I love historic Jumbles, but the answer wasn’t the greatest pun. Sure, the plane was built from wooden boards, but . . .
Great period piece cartoon! The year is 1974! I could use a good MovieTone News clip here. Jeff added some Long Beach Harbor backdrop to the cartoon. Very cool. Ooh, found a clip! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

UR, I had to read your comments twice to be sure but your word LABIA has 2 A’s instead of 2 I’s. I hope you have a good alibi . LOL.
I do suppose you DID realize quickly that it was 2 I’s in which case, as Emily Litella would say, “nevermind”. I have done that a few times. Taking a look at the jumbled word and racing to a word that after checking was totally wrong because I had mistaken one letter. Mea culpa, UR.
Of course I caught myself, Gary. I was just letting the readers into the mind of Uncle Rave! LOL! Depraved as it may be! — YUR
UR, do you have any idea why my comments showed up as ANONYMOUS? I was concerned you would not know who it was.
Not sure, Gary. Sometimes I’m seeing your email address, and sometimes not. But, either way I’m seeing your ISP. Maybe you’re using different devices? — YUR
Howard Hughes may have been a smart guy like, Elon Musk, but the Spruce Goose was probably the dumbest idea he tried.
Musk’s dumbest idea was that submarine he tried to push forward to rescue those Thai Boy Scouts from that flooded cave.
