(I was a little surprised to see that this is the first Buddy Rich quote used in the Cryptoquote, since I’ve been posting these spoilers. It’s long overdue, but we welcome Buddy to the Cryptoquote Club! He was a fantastic drummer, and quite a character. I remember seeing him on the Merv Griffin Show, the Mike Douglas Show, Johnny Carson, and also on shows like The Muppet Show, Happy Days, and Here’s Lucy. He played with a lot of the big bands in the ’30s and ’40s, and was also leader of his own bands. He also did a lot of sessions work with a number of top musicians. He was a bit of a tough guy too, both professionally and in his personal life. He had fights with Frank Sinatra, but they became lifelong friends. Seeing his name brought back a lot of great memories! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
