Clue/Question: At over 4,000 feet, the Gobi Desert hikers weren’t going to be – – –

Answer: LEFT HIGH AND DRY
(Meh! I guess that’s high for most deserts. Lafayette, Colorado has an elevation of 5,210′, and they call it a high desert. I know that hiking around there can get you pretty parched. But, I’m pretty sure it gets quite a bit hotter in the Gobi during summertime. And, quite a bit colder in winter.
Hoyt has given us another new clue word today, in “crest”. More work for our good friend, ralis95! His database keeps growing and growing. Three of the jumbles appear to be new, with “liyhl” having definitely been used before. The answer letter layout was an awesome eleven letter jumble. The elevation in the clue/question, and the AND in the final answer line, led me to HIGH, then DRY. The remaining letters left me with LEFT!
Fine cartoon of some adventurist hikers. I hope they know where they are going, or else they’ll wander around and eventually succumb to their environs. Then the vultures will be picking their bones clean. Isn’t THAT a nice thought? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
