I feel your pain. I cannot “shut down” either. The best I can do to fall asleep is deep breathing and think about something boring.
It doesn’t really fit with the culture of “Move fast and break things,” but it is a reminder to slow down and reflect on things occasionally. Perhaps a lot more often than we normally do.

I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat these days, but I wake up at least once or twice, sometimes more, before I want to. On paper I’m getting 7 – 8 hours of sleep, but not in reality, Gary. — YUR
