(No, Ross.  The *man* who cleans up the river should be the one who polluted it in the first place.  What good is it for an “activist” to try to clean the river while the polluter is still polluting it?  Wrongs need to be called out, before they can be righted.

This one took some correcting for me, before I could complete it.  I saw all the E’s, T’s, I’s and S’s early on, but I thought ACTIVIST was OPTIMIST.  It wasn’t until I figured out the author that I saw the error of my ways.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

(Now this is a very stinky pun.  Perspiration, funky smelling socks, and desperation.  But, that’s what gyms are.  All gains come from physical effort, and physical effort produces odor!

Can you believe that David L Hoyt has given us yet another new clue word today, in “beanie”?  Besides it being a new clue word, it was a bear of a jumble!  For a while, I thought I was going to have to back into it.  But, it came to me . . . before it came to that!  All of the jumbles came up as new, but that was the only toughie, for me.  Hoyt is definitely keeping ralis95 busy this week.  The answer letter layout was a nifty thirteen letter jumble.  I thought it did a fine job of disguising the final answer.  The quotation marks were probably the biggest clue.
