“If the bee bites you once, it’s the bee’s fault. If the bee bites you twice, it’s your fault.” — Source Obscure
(This is a truism that is filled with errors. It is physically impossible for a bee to ‘bite’ more than once, because their stinger and venom sac, and part of their lower abdomen, get ripped out when the bee flies off . . . to die within minutes. A wasp however can sting – not bite – you many times, as their stingers stay intact. Bees sting only defensively, while wasps can be more aggressive. But, if you don’t give a wasp a reason to sting you – like swatting at it – they’ll usually just leave you alone. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
