“A man is known by the company that keeps him on after retirement.” — Source Obscure
(I don’t think this quote was coined anytime in the last twenty to thirty years! We currently live in the era of disposable employees. Get ’em young, run ’em ragged for a few years, then let ’em go, repeat. There are always some exceptions, but there isn’t a whole lot of company loyalty these days. Pretty sad. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

If you ever pick up public radio in Atlanta, WABE: http://www.wabe.org, I’ve noticed many of their on-air hosts have officially retired, yet, their still on the on air doing special segments they didn’t do before retirement.
I don’t get it.
Many of these people are very popular with the listeners. I’m wondering if they have some special policy to not let anyone actually retire.
It reminds me of “Hotel California”: “You can checkout anytime, but you can’t leave.”
Could be, lwc! Once you have a good fan base you’re always in demand. No one wants you to retire. Love the music reference! — YUR
