(An excellent historic, and nerdy, pun! But, nowadays nerdy folk rule the world. Cool cats – like me – just live in it. But, just look at the leaps and bounds they’ve made in computing in under 40 years! It just boggles the mind. At least old minds like mine!
On this day in Jumble history there were no new clue words! However, four of the six jumbles did come up as new. Only “cugorh” and “fhirtt” have definitely been used before. The answer letter layout was a magnificent seventeen letter jumble. It probably took me a couple of minutes to come up with the final answer. I did it Sunday night, but I was a little bummed/in shock from hitting a deer on my way back from my wife’s cousin’s place. No one got hurt – except the deer – and the car was driveable, but it was pretty traumatic. I clipped it on its hind quarters, so only the front driver’s side was effected. It was like an explosion! I couldn’t open the driver’s side door, so I couldn’t go back to see if she lived or died, and the traffic was still fairly heavy. The only other thing I’ve ever hit was an opossum, about 30 years ago. That I definitely killed. Unless it was just playing possum!
The cartoon is a fine depiction of mid-80’s life. The clothes, the haircuts, the floppy discs, and the ancient unit. And, the clunky handheld video camera was a great touch. Fine Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
