Visual Description: Don’t mess with Annie Oakley!
NTUSG = STUNG, DROLE = OLDER, TRAXOH = THORAX, KEORNB = BROKEN — Giving us: STUOLETHORBROE
Clue/Question: She was able to fix her own skeet gun because she was a – – –
Answer: TROUBLE–SHOOTER
(PULL! Shwoop! BLAM!!! Skeet shooting looks like a lot of fun. I’d love to try it. I wouldn’t want to try it with Dick Cheney in my party, but I’d definitely give it a shot!
None of Saturday’s clue words were new, but all of their jumbles came up as new. I got a little tripped up by “drole”. Maybe it’s because I don’t like to admit that I’m getting older! The answer letter layout was a very impressive fourteen letter jumble. I thought it did a wonderful job disguising the final answer. I figured that one of the seven letter answer words had to be SHOOTER, and the TUOLERB gave me no trouble.
Fine cartoon showing a very interesting sport. I’ve never fired a shotgun before. Skeet shooting is usually portrayed as a rich man’s sport in movies and on TV. But, there must be shooting clubs where regular folks can do it. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
