Visual Description: Tour sub.
EEESG = GEESE, FRAGT = GRAFT, SPEMUT = SEPTUM, CWERSY = SCREWY — Giving us: EEERATSEUSCR
Clue/Question: They took a ride in the submarine to – – –
Answer: “SEA“ CREATURES Hmm! Because of the letters made available, I’m told that the actual – not necessarily the correct – answer is: “SEE“ CREATURES. Read the comments, friends.
(Great stinky pun! Reminds me of the old joke. I’m on that new seafood diet. Yeah, I see food and I eat it! This see cruise looks even better than a glass-bottom boat!
None of today’s clue words are new. Although, all of the jumbles appear to be new. They were all fun, but I got them all instantly. The answer letter layout was a beautiful twelve letter jumble. I found nothing obvious about it. The biggest clues were the quotation marks and the great cartoon.
It looks like Jeff is taking us down memory lane. Maybe a trip he took the family on, about ten years or so ago. It’s gotta be pretty pricey. Submarines aren’t cheap! I thought that Cam might be doing his best Ralph Cramden, or perhaps Charlie Callas, but that is the actual Hawaiian name for the reef trigger fish. And, once again, Jeff has drawn it superbly! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Hi UncleRave, sorry, there is only one “a” in the answer. Therefore, “see creatures”!
Love your work!
You are absolutely correct, Ian! I screwed up! I’ll let it go for a while to sea if anyone else notices! — YUR
Even though it’s not a new word, I had a devil of a time with SEPTUM. TEMPUS FUGIT doesn’t count! And yes, I thought it was SEE CREATURES … the pun is just as fishy either way …
Only one “a” in the jumble and 2 in the ans6.
I also did a double take when I saw your “sea” and thought “what did I do wrong?”. Then I counted the “e”s and realized you only had 3, not four .I really try not to look at the picture until I get the jumble words but I did glimpse it today and said the first word MUST be “sea” and that caused me some grief until I got “creatures” and realized it was “see”.
Hey Unc, I believe your Favorite Nephew Is right..I’ts “SEE” not “SEA”..Im sure It’s not your mistake but the knee pain meds..LOL..Feel better Go Bills..Big Test this coming Sunday..Wimpy
LOL, Wimpy! — YUR
Letters-wise, I was definitely wrong, Gary. BUT, when you read the clue/question, especially in the context of cartoon/overall Jumble, THEY – aka the people – clearly, obviously, and actually – “took a ride in the submarine to” SEE CREATURES . . . as they were SEEing creatures. The pun would/should be a play on SEE, which would/should be SEA. So, I was wrong, but so was David, because he should’ve provided one more A, and one less E.
How do you like dem apples? — YUR
Nice save, UR. You da man.
Thank you, Gary. I definitely have my moments. I will be amending my spoiler, but I think I’ve made my case/point. — YUR
The Guys were sneaky on this one. I thought SEA CREATURES, but when I circled my letters I was missing the additional A. Then SEE came to light. So, the way I looked at it, the play on the word was on the use of SEE instead of SEA because you’d expect SEA creatures in the water. LL
And, that was the intended way, LL. But, the way I took the clue/question: They took a ride to . . . SEE CREATURES. And, the pun of that would be “SEA” CREATURES. I jumped on it, because to me it made perfect sense, so I didn’t bother to check off the letters. But, even if I had checked the letters I might have assumed that a circle was off somehow, like the time it happened before. Of course, this time there was only one A available in all of the clue words, so I guess I need to be a little less cavalier with the answer letter layout. But, hey! That ain’t me! I’m a cocky S.O.B., sometimes. — YUR
Unc, I do that too, mainly with the clue words. I’ll glance at clue word and the word comes immediately. I’ll put it in the squares and go on to unjumble the remaining words. Then I have a devil of a time solving the puzzle..with the wrong letters and I’m stuck for a bit. LL
Unc, you thought Jeff’s cartoon referred to a real submarine expedition he took with his family? Is that based on something he said or posted?
When I saw his cartoon, I thought he was channeling old submarine rides at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World. Both rides proved too expensive to run efficiently with happy guests and Disney pulled the plugs on them 15+ years ago, although after almost a decade, Disneyland redeveloped and reopened theirs as a Finding Nemo ride which still runs. Jeff’s subs looked like the subs in the two older rides, and yes, while on those rides you would “SEE” (fake) CREATURES, kinda like “The Jungle Cruise” rides.
I didn’t have an issue with this answer, but rant on. For once it’s you and not me /heh/.
No, no, nope, David. That was pure Unc imagination at play. I know his kids are now older than in the cartoon though. You are probably right about it being a Disney ride of some sort. I was last at Disney World around 1997. I think back then all the rides were powered by Egyptian slaves, or something. — YUR
