“The secret of success is making hay with the grass that grows under other people’s feet.” — Author Unknown
(I bet this guy/person worked for the government! For most of us who are fortunate enough to own our own homes, we rarely own the mineral rights, for what is underground. Local governments can plant trees on your property along the street, but it’s your responsibility to trim them, and remove them if they fall. When my neighborhood was part of the unincorporated town there was never an issue of snow removal, if a sidewalk ran along your property. But, as soon as we incorporated into a village they threatened us with fines if we didn’t keep the sidewalk clear! I’m not a huge Libertarian, and it’s not really even about the taxes, but I will say that we are, to a certain extent at least, slaves to the state. I can sympathize with those folks who decide to live in isolation, off the grid so to speak. And, surprisingly, things have only gotten worse over the last three years, so this is not a left/right issue. Representation stinks, there are so many limitations on what we can do, and we’re supposed to be grateful for living in a “free society“. Pisses me off, folks! Anyway, be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. Did anyone else notice the different artist for “Dilbert” today? Not sure if this is an earlier version of the comic, being brought back for nostalgic purposes, or if it is a guest artist. My newspaper didn’t say one way or the other. — YUR
