Clue/Question:  Talking to some people about clean, renewable power can be a – – –

(Funny how this ties in with Today in History!  Today in 1859 the first successful oil well was drilled in the United States.  The correlations between energy and populations are pretty strong.  Although it had been used – in limited use – for a couple thousand years, coal really took off during the Industrial Revolution, from the mid-1700s through the 1800s.  But, the world population jumped from around 700 Million to around 1.65 Billion during that period.  Pretty significant.  With oil starting to be refined and burned around 1859 the world population grew from around 1.35 Billion to 7.7 Billion today.  A 6.5 Billion increase in humans, in just 160 years, is downright mind boggling!  And, of course, the rate of energy consumption has more than kept pace.  We all know – via basic earth science – that burning just about anything produces carbon dioxide – CO2.  But, the burning of coal and petroleum products also introduce many more gasses and chemicals into the atmosphere.  If we weren’t destroying the rain forests, and old growth forests, and polluting the oceans and seas, the world might be able to utilize the CO2 to make more oxygen – O2.  But, because we have severely compromised the forests and oceans, there is a glut of CO2 in the world!  It’s a simple matter of exceeding capacity.  And, CO2 is much warmer than O2.  The result being . . . Global Warming.  Or, to be more accurate, Man-Made Global Warming.  Unfortunately, deniers still exist, despite the scientific study results.  People like Grumpy Gramps can’t die off fast enough!  LOL!  Enough preaching . . . for now.

No new clue words today.  However, all of the jumbles appear to be new.  None of them were difficult for me.  The answer letter layout was an impressive thirteen letter jumble.  I thought it disguised the final answer very nicely.

Great cartoon of a kid showing off his science project to his family!  He should do well.  Renewables do still have a way to go before they can totally replace fossil fuels.  But, this recalcitrance to increasing renewables, and reducing fossil fuels, is leading the world down the road to ruin.  So sayeth yer Uncle!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
