“You get in life what you have the courage to ask for.” —Nancy D. Solomon
(And, if you think that most employers don’t take advantage of this fact . . . you are living in a fantasy world. The lesson should be: If you’re not assertive, it doesn’t pay to be productive. We welcome Ms. Solomon to the Cryptoquote Club today. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR
Clue/Question: Henry’s skill in reducing costs for production of the Model-T resulted in – – –
Answer: “A–FORD–ABILITY“
(A wonderfully stinky pun! Ol’ Henry could’ve used this as part of a marketing slogan. It’s hard to pinpoint where and when my love for puns started. But, one memorable instance was when Mike Naismith – right after the Monkees broke up – did a parody of the Sandpipers’ hit “Guantanamera”. His version was “One Ton Tomata”. It was silly as heck, but I loved it. In looking up the real song, I found a comment that read: At the Canadian Post Office we used to sing “One tonna maila” at Christmas. Thank you, Rob McKenzie! It’s great to know that there are plenty of folks out there as warped as me!
David L. Hoyt has given us another new clue word today, in “imply”. No rest for our friend, ralsi95! He will have to update his world famous clue word database once again. All of the jumbles appear to be new today. I’m ashamed to say that I had to back into “casino” . . . again! When it comes to things I don’t like . . . I really struggle to unscramble their jumbled words. If this wasn’t such a trivial matter I’d seek professional help!
Another great period piece cartoon from Jeff Knurek. The likeness of Henry Ford is impressive. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR
