Answer: FIRE WORKS
(A good stinker of a pun, to help celebrate our country’s 243rd birthday. You can almost smell the sulfur and the black powder! Let’s hope that these guys are competent . . . and sober. There are too many stories of people getting hurt on the 4th of July, and any day where amateur fireworks are shot off.
Froyt . . . er, I mean Hoyt is sparing us from new clue words today. He doesn’t want to bother ralis95 on a national holiday! Two of the jumbles are new, while we’ve seen both “sokki” and “leesaw” some time before. Yeah, and “forty” spells out in alphabetical order. Fine nine letter answer letter layout jumble. It just couldn’t hide the elephant in the room.
Great cartoon of a couple of good intentioned jokers. I can just see that fuse burning out, shorter and shorter, before getting to the drum. And, the fuses almost never burn at consistent rate, anyway. It’s usually best to leave these things to the professionals. Have a Happy Independence Day, guys! Be well, be good, and be safe, friends.) — YUR
