“A poetpoem is never finished, only abandoned.” — Paul Valery
(This might be one more reason why I’m NOT a big fan of poetry. So many of the poets kind of have this woe is me attitude. Someone get this guy a puppy! LOL!. We welcome Monsieur Valéry to the Cryptoquote Club today. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. How’d you do on this one, Roy? —YUR
It never occurred to me that it could be “poem”. Poet just seemed to fit, so I went with it. My bad. Apologies to the poets, and readers of this blog. — YUR
Clue/Question: After the fire at the barbershop, all the barber could do was – – –
Answer: COMB THROUGH IT
(The ashes! Yeah, this wasn’t the easiest of Jumbles. Especially if you didn’t have all of the letters, because one of the jumbles had you pretty well stumped. After having to actually work out the jumble, on paper, I came up with the very necessary last four letters.
All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends. But, all of their jumbles appear to be new. By now you’ve probably figured out that I had some difficulty coming up with “helium”. But, after writing out: HUMILE, HIMULE, AND HEMULI . . . I was finally able to see HELIUM. I would have never gotten the final answer without the HIUM!
Great burned out barbershop cartoon. Of course, the barber looks like Floyd the barber, from “The Andy Griffith Show”! He also looks a little like Mr. Whipple, from the old Charmin ads. The month of May just blew by, and now June is bustin out all over! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
