I’ve married a few people I shouldn’t have, but haven’t we all?”   —   Mamie Van Doren

(I always kind of confuse her with Jayne Mansfield.  Both were bleached blond bombshells, in the Marilyn Monroe mold.  Jayne died in a tragic car accident at the age of 34, but Mamie is still with us, at the age of 88.  Good for you, Mamie!  We welcome Mamie to the Cryptoquote club today.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  ROAM ROME

(Other than the ruins, and historic sites, and beautiful landscapes and scenery, the thing I remember most about Italy, and Rome in particular, is . . . THE FOOD!  It was absolutely fabulous.  No matter where we went, we never had a bad meal, or snack.  I think it must be a federal law, or something, over there.

Just last month, Hoyt was saying how a friend of his ran some program, and decided that they were running out of unused five and six letter words, that could be used for the Jumble.  You certainly wouldn’t know that from the last couple of weeks.  We’ve been getting new words left and right.  Today we’re seeing another one in “simmer”.  Our good friend, ralis95, is going to have to update his world famous clue word database once again!  Hoyt has also been on a hot streak with new jumbles, as they are all new today again.  The answer letter layout was a decent eight letter jumble, but it didn’t really take a genius, or geography geek, to get today’s answer.

Great cartoon of tourists outside the Pantheon!  When I was in Rome, in April of 1990, there was still a lot of scaffolding up, because they were hosting the World Cup that year.  It took away from the experience a little, but it was still a great trip.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
