(But of course!  It may signal the unofficial start to Summer, but Memorial Day is actually a very solemn day.  Honoring those who served and died, in service to their country.  We owe them all a debt of gratitude.

Surprisingly . . . again, we appear to have a new clue word in “delete”.  Pretty basic six letter word, but the ralis95 clue word database goes from deity straight to deluge.  Delete will fit in very nicely.  As would deject, and delay.  All of today’s jumbles are coming up as new!  The answer letter layout is a respectable eleven letter jumble.  Nothing obvious about it.
