Clue/Question: He’d caught his opponent cheating, and now the golfer had a – – –

Answer: SCORE TO SETTLE
(No, no! You haven’t stumbled upon the Cryptoquote Spoiler. That’s coming a little later. I just figured it was a good way to describe the situation . . . that happens far too often in golf. Very appropriate Jumble pun though! The guy definitely has a score to settle. But, if the “opponent” is his boss he better bite his tongue! This puts me in mind of Larry Tate, from “Bewitched”. I don’t specifically remember any golfing scenes, but it’s the kind of weaselly thing that Darren’s boss used to regularly pull. Now, I’ve gone off on a twenty minute tangent, looking up “Bewitched” pics and such. Some days I just can’t help myself. I finally ended up with a look at Grace Lee Whitney’s IMDB page. She appeared on “Bewitched”, at least one time, but is better known for her recurring role as Yeoman Janice Rand, on “Star Trek”. Unfortunately, she’s dead now too, like so many of the original cast. But, we do still have Kirk, Sulu, Checkov and Uhura! Back to the Jumble?
All of today’s clue words were par for the course . . . nothing new. But, all of the jumbles are coming up as new. They all came to me right away. The answer letter layout was a beautifully cryptic thirteen letter jumble. Nothing obvious in it, but I did figure out the final answer pretty quickly.
Fun golf scene cartoon. The one guy definitely looks like a liar. I like the “Mr. Gopher” golf club head cover! And, you can see a little golf cart near the top of the drawing. Tons of fun. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
