Clue/Question: When “The Fantastic Four” debuted, readers bought the comic books to – – –
Answer: MARVEL AT THEM
(Great pun! I grew up reading Marvel Comics. Also DC and Dell and Gold Key and Archie comics. I loved the old Tarzan comics, and also the World War II comics, like “Sgt. Rock” and “Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos”. It took me a little while to get into the superheroes, but my first and favorite of those was always “Captain America”. Then “The Avengers”. I wasn’t so big on “The Fantastic Four” or “Spider Man” until my later teens. I still have a box of comics in the garage somewhere. I hope they’re still okay.
No new clue words today. We’ve definitely seen “vacho” before, but the other jumbles appear to be new. It took me a few looks before I saw “salmon”. Fantastic twelve letter answer letter layout. Nothing given away.
Fun cartoon of some early ’60s kids. Great job on the clothes and haircuts. I don’t remember little girls reading comic books much back then. They usually pooh-poohed them, and only read real books. And, I think most comic books were geared more for boys back then. Times have changed though. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

UR, I loved reading the Archie, and Casper the Friendly Ghost comic books when I was little……..and you’re right, it was slim pickings for girls who liked comic books. My brother and I would read anything, even cereal boxes at breakfast. Going to buy a comic book was a real treat- we’d go to the newspaper/tobacco shop in our little town to buy two each, and we’d be on cloud 9!…. I truly hope your comics in your garage are a-ok! This was a super Jumble today, kudos Jeff and David! ( I’ve been way behind on all things Jumble, and UR…hoping to have my head above water soon…hope everyone’s doing exceedingly well…take care all! )
Thanks, jenn! Welcome back! Take your time and do what you gotta do. We”l be here. — YUR
I used to raise HAVOC with my lunch and dinner times by outside Comic reading. I would MERGE the Books by my desire of type of topic was primary for me that day.(I would
TETHER my SALMON{example} to the porch

Some Comic Books were soo interesting/fun I
would “MARVEL AT THEM”…
Stay Special to those who care for you {& versa visa}. Hope you find an old group of prime Comic Books hid somewhere worth
Min. $$$ 300,000 or at least you like them??¿♤♡◇♧*
I too had a pile of comics when I was a kid. Alas, most of them are gone. BUT! I have a small pile of Sgt Fury comics next to my desk here, plus a small box of assorted DC comics in the basement. The last time I saw them the box was sitting on a bar stool, so I’d think they won’t get wet if some water gets onto the basement floor. 😀
I loved the assortment of characters in the Sgt Fury comics! A real rogue’s gallery. I wouldn’t be surprised if the comic books didn’t inspire “The Dirty Dozen”. — YUR

Hey Jenn! I’m in your boat…I’m about a month out. I’m now going through the blog to see what our Unc has had to say!
I loved my comics when I was growing up. I got to buy one on Friday’s when we’d go to the grocery with daddy!
