(Some people might call this a stinky pun.  After all, it does deal with fish!  But I love it, because the premise is such a stretch!  Can anyone, realistically, picture Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christopher Jackson driving upstate to some Catskill lake, for a day of fishing?  In costume, no less???  Great sight gag!

All of today’s clue words were familiar old friends.  However, all of their jumbles appear to be new.  For some reason, they all jumped off the page for me.  The eleven letter answer letter layout was the trickiest of jumbles though.  It hid the answer wonderfully.  I guess it was the combination of the characters being in costume, and Lin’s monster cast that reeled me in.

The cartoon is fantastic.  At first I thought that Jeff had drawn one of my favorite bartenders from my craft beer hall.  But, then I thought:  Hmm, I don’t think Jeff has ever been to Growler & Gill, in Nanuet, NY.  Then, it made me realize:  Hey, my favorite bartender kinda looks like Lin-Manuel Miranda!  LOL!  The specific costumes and show could – arguably – be irrelevant to solving this.  But, why not reference Broadway’s biggest show of the last four years?  It definitely helps that it’s an historical musical.  Costumes for “Dear Evan Hansen” and “Come from Away” have got to be pretty nondescript, by comparison.  I hear even the cheap seats for “Hamilton” are still going for about a grand!  Not yer uncle of course, but some people will take that big bite, hook, line and sinker! Great concept Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Very good pun, cartoon, and final answer, guys. Due to my cultural cluelessness rather than a bad rendering, I missed the “Hamilton” reference in the cartoon. Thanks Unc for filling me in there. And I love the arts, but for a thousand bucks plus for one seat, I’m happy to let others take my place. Not being into hip hop, it may not be my kinda show anyway.

I needed three extra minutes to land this final answer, getting off to a bad start hooking onto BASS. But then I realized: the characters would have been opera stars rather than stage actors if BASS was in the answer. After biting on another shiny lure, BEST, I finally did net CAST and had it.

The BRASH ” CAST MEMBERS ” had, for me,
some very tough ENZYMEs. After their fishing
excurtion was completed, later than planned,
they were TARDY for taking their play to the nearby CAMPUS. No problem, they {Reeled}it
off {In} fine manner too the apprecitive patrons.

You’re welcome, David. I’m with you. Hip hop is definitely not my genre, and a grand a pop would be too rich for me, even if it was a musical style to my liking. I’m not quite as up on Broadway shows as I once was, but the light came on relatively quickly for me. — YUR
