(Wasn’t he the drummer early on???  Just kidding, folks.  I’m sure some of you oldsters, and some of you youngsters, don’t have a clue as to my little joke.  But, you middling folk know what I’m talking about!

All of today’s clue words are familiar old friends, and three of the four jumbles have been used before.  Only “mrripe” appears to be new.  The answer letter layout is an excellent eleven letter jumble.  Beautifully cryptic!  You kinda had to be a history/geography nerd to get today’s final answer.

Great period piece cartoon of one of Magellan’s five ships.  Probably La Trinidad.  Technically, the Strait of Magellan does not go around the tip of South America, but more through it.  It’s a waterway that separates Chile from Tierra del Fuego.  I’m not sure if Tierra del Fuego was always an island/s unto itself, or if it broke off from what is now Chile and Argentina way back when.  It is definitely rough sailing down there, but it’s still safer than going around Cape Horn, via the Drake Passage.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

    Love Mark and his D.S.
The Foo Fighters, however, do fulfill your made-up question; its leader used to be the drummer for Kurt Cobain. Phil Collins too is another drummer who assumed the role of front man. And everybody knows that Ringo was the true leader of what’s-its-name band..

Dave Grohl has done very well for himself, Wes. As has/d Phil. But, Ringo was content being the comic relief. He was the only one not to take himself too seriously. — YUR 🙂

Being a Merchant Seaman for 30 yrs. I truly loved this set up. Magellen and his ilk were as courageous and as smart in their field as any men in history!! (A little bias on my part)
I actually left The ST..(Wall ₩) for the Deep Sea. Best non-family decision in my life***
