Jumble Spoiler – 03/26/19

Clue/Question:  The collector who wouldn’t stop talking about his model trains had a – – –

Answer:  ONE–TRACK MIND

(Not for nothing, but I doubt he’d be the type of guy to waste his time with online dating sites.  Once you’re a model train nerd . . . you are long gone, baby. Everything else is pretty much off the tracks.  For many, this passion borders on an obsession.  What would he need a woman for?

All of today’s clue words are familiar old clue words.  Of course, as usual, I had to semi-back into “khaki”.  I can never remember if it’s “khaki” or “kakhi”.  I’m just not that up on my Urdu!  Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “sreds” having definitely been used before.  The answer letter layout was a nifty twelve letter jumble.  It gave nothing away.  For me, it’s always a combination of the visual of the cartoon, and the leading nature of the clue/question.

Great depiction of a model train enthusiast’s basement!  It’s been ages since I’ve been in one.  When I was a wee lad, our nextdoor neighbor had a setup in his basement, and a few family friends had setups.  My Dad even had tracks and engines and cars.  But, I don’t think my Mom allowed him to set it up.  Likely one of the reasons they were divorced by the time I was six.  She always thought she was too good for him.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
